Agent Giving Wrong or Empty Answers?

If your GRUP agent is replying with incorrect, vague, or blank responses, this guide will help you fix it by reviewing your knowledge base, setup, and task logic. These types of issues are usually caused by missing knowledge, poor content structure, or unclear objectives—not technical errors.

1. Is the Agent Linked to the Right Project?

  • Go to your agent settings

  • Check which Project it is linked to

  • Confirm the project includes accurate, updated content relevant to your group

If the project is empty or incorrect, your agent won't have anything useful to say.

2. Is the Knowledge Structured Clearly?

Poor formatting or unclear writing leads to bad answers.

Check that your Project Knowledge:

  • Uses bullet points for clarity

  • Has direct answers to common questions

  • Includes current product, token, and feature information

  • Avoids vague marketing language and fluff

You can test this in the Live Chat tab using real user-style questions.

3. Is the Agent's Objective Too Broad or Confusing?

  • Revisit your agent’s Objective field

  • Use specific, natural language goals

Good example: “Help users understand our staking rewards and boost daily app usage”
Bad example: “Drive maximum community synergy and energy”

The clearer the goal, the better the agent aligns its behavior.

4. Is There a Task Triggered?

If you're expecting a specific reply, check if a task is:

  • Actively configured

  • Properly triggered by a keyword, event, or schedule

No task = no proactive behavior.

5. Are the Responses Too Generic?

That’s usually a sign the agent is trying to generate output with weak or missing knowledge.

Fix it by:

  • Adding exact answers into the project (e.g., tokenomics, URLs, app instructions)

  • Including specific phrases you want the agent to recognize and use

6. Are Tone and Personality Misaligned?

  • If your tone is set to “Funny” but you’re asking serious product questions, you might get off-brand replies

  • Consider rebalancing tone vs. use case in the agent settings

7. Re-Test in Live Chat

  • Use the Chat tab to simulate real questions and refine

  • Use different wordings and check if the agent adapts or fails to respond

8. Ask Grup Copilot to Review

  • Go to the Copilot tab

  • Ask: “Why is my agent giving wrong replies?”

  • It can analyze your setup and guide you to missing parts
